The Bridge Card carries a WIC balance that you can easily check before and after purchasing food items. It’s important to be aware of the remaining funds before checking out. Once the funds run out, you are expected to cover the remaining balance of the grocery bill.
Checking your WIC balance is fast and easy. The balance is always displayed on the bottom of your most recent receipt. You can also check your balance using the Connect Mobile app, which was recently released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).
To use the card, you must set a personal identification number (PIN). The PIN should never be shared with anyone. If your card is lost, stolen or damaged, call a WIC office immediately to protect yourself from identity theft. Officials will deactivate the card and issue you a replacement.
